Research Office Administrator

Job Title: : Research Office Administrator

Post Title: Research Office Administrator

Post Duration: Fixed Term Contract, 31 months duration (FTE 0.8)

Grade: NCAD Grade V

Reports to: Research Office Lead

Salary: NCAD Grade V €52,240-€62,482 per annum pro rata €41,792 – €49,985.60 * per annum

*Candidates should note that as per Department of Finance guidelines, entry will be at the first point of the salary scale and the rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with government pay policy. Candidates should note that different pay and conditions may apply if, immediately prior to appointment, the appointee is a serving civil or public servant.

Annual Leave: Annual Leave will be 20 working days per annum pro rata. This leave is exclusive of public holidays.

Hours of Attendance: Working hours will be 28 hours per week (net of rest breaks).

Location: This position is based at NCAD, 100 Thomas Street, Dublin

 

Role Purpose:

This role is a specified purpose role funded by the Targeted Enhancement Fund (TEF), this funding is time-bound and the objectives of the funding are to:

  • Provide targeted support for initiatives that are critical to the strategic development of NCAD.
  • Contribute towards enhancement initiatives that will strengthen the performance of NCAD.
  • To consolidate NCAD's position in the higher education landscape.
  • Facilitate the development and/or continuation of initiatives that further national policy and priorities.

 

Mandatory Criteria

  • Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in academic and/or research administration within the university or higher education sector or equivalent fields such as NGOs, business.
  • Ability to manage budgets and undertake financial reporting.
  • Good understanding of key software packages such as Excel
  • Good planning and coordination skills
  • Strong administration skills and experience, including demonstrated ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Have proven ability to work on your own initiative
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Enjoy working in a creative environment, collaborating across teams and effectively responding to tasks and requests
