Post Summary
This post is to assist research in the area of service provision to children and young people in Ireland living with cerebral palsy. The primary objective is to map clinical resources and expertise across the regions. This will provide foundational understanding of the gaps and opportunities that exist in planning evidence based interventions and support to this population.
Standard Duties and Responsibilities of the Post
1. The successful applicant will work with the PI and a multi-disciplinary advisory group of clinicians and families, who will support the design and implementation of the project
2. He/she will disseminate a pilot survey of clinicians designed to map resources and expertise in cerebral palsy across the country, and amend as required with a view to broad dissemination
3. He/she will organise communications and timelines in relation to the main survey, and will analyse the incoming data
4. The successful applicant will present the data to informants, through publication and/or presentation, using a variety of media.
5. The survey will form the basis for the development of a Cerebral Palsy Network in Ireland, and the RA will work with the PI and project team in building this network
6. There will be an opportunity to contribute to the writing of a larger project in relation to barriers and opportunities in the delivery of evidence based care across the Network
Funding Information
This post is funded as part of ELEVATE, a research grant co-funded by Research Ireland and the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. It relates specifically to Work Package 4 in ELEVATE, Intervene, which has the goal of setting up a national intervention and innovation platform for infants and children with CP in Ireland. The work of the RA will also be closely aligned with Work Package 3, Improve, which has the goal of establishing the first national CP registry in Ireland, as the development of the clinical network is fundamental to planning data entry to the register
