The specific purpose of this contract is to fill an Assistant Professor vacancy on a temporary basis pending the return of the postholder from maternity leave.
The Purpose of the Role
The Discipline of Physiotherapy, Trinity College, Dublin (TCD), invites applicants for an Assistant Professor in Physiotherapy. The successful candidate will be based in the Trinity Centre for Health Sciences, St. James’ Hospital and will provide teaching across a range of modules within the Discipline of Physiotherapy. The successful candidate will also be required to supervise research students and contribute to the research profile of the Discipline especially in the area by actively engaging in research and contribute to the administration of the Discipline. The holder of this position is accountable to the Head of Discipline of Physiotherapy, TCD.
Context
The discipline requires a candidate to support and lead evidence based and clinically relevant teaching to aid the development of curricula, advanced practice and support relationships with new and existing services provider partners. They will also be required to lead and develop research programmes which are relevant to the department in the areas of clinical exercise and professional practice. A successful research team; we prioritise research collaboration with clinical partners in our linked hospitals, national and international colleagues, other relevant stakeholders and industry, to identify research questions of local, national and global significance.

The role-holder will require the following knowledge, skills and attributes for successful performance in the role.
Qualifications
Essential:
• A primary degree in physiotherapy.
• PhD in physiotherapy or a related health or behavioural science discipline.
• An ongoing track record ofresearch, including dissemination through appropriate platforms.
• Experience of preparing and leading seminars, presentations, workshops etc.
• Excellent administration and communication skills.
• Experience teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
• Clinical experience at a Physiotherapist.
