Research Assistant School of Biochemistry and Cell Biology

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant position in the Cell Biology Laboratory, in the School of Biochemistry and Cell Biology to work on a Research Ireland- funded Frontiers for the Future Award research programme. The successful candidate will work within this research team to carry out research on receptor tyrosine kinase activity in the context of inflammatory disorders and aggressive cancers. Experimental approaches to be applied will include culture and transfection/infection of mammalian cell lines including CRISPR gene editing, protein structure and modelling, in cell proteomics, advanced cell imaging, flow cytometry, western blotting/immunoprecipitation, and a range of cell and protein function assays.
The successful candidate is expected to have at minimum at BSc or MSc or equivalent qualification, to be enthusiastic about scientific enquiry, and to have experience in some of the experimental approaches outlined above.
