Research Fellowship in Immunology

Post Status: Specific Purpose Contract – Full-time. 

Research Group / Department / School: Padraic Fallon Group, School of Medicine 

Location: Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute, Pearse Street, Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin College Green, Dublin 2, Ireland 

Reports to: Professor Padraic Fallon 

Salary: Appointment will be made on Post-Doctoral Researcher scales [€45,847 to €53,770 per annum] 

Hours of Work: 39 hours per week

 

Post Summary 

A Postdoctoral immunology fellowship is available to join Prof Padraic Fallon’s Research group in the Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute (TBSI), Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. TBSI is a leading research institute with access to state-of-the-art facilities and a vibrant, interdisciplinary research community focused on addressing critical questions in immunology and inflammation. The Fallon group is involved in research on the immunology of inflammatory diseases, conducting studies using both clinical samples and animal models. The Fellowships will focus on research into the therapeutic modulation of innate and adaptive immunity during inflammation, as well as studies using clinical samples. The Fellows will work on a designated project as part of a team and will have opportunities to work independently within a multidisciplinary research environment. As required, specialised training will be provided in the laboratories of international collaborators.

 

Standard Duties and Responsibilities of the Post 

Conduct high-quality research on immune cell activation and functions in inflammatory conditions. 

Prepare and publish scientific results in leading international peer-reviewed journals. Present findings at internal meetings, as well as national and international scientific conferences. 

Collaborate with academic, clinical, and industry partners, and contribute to related ongoing research projects within the team. 

Assist in the preparation of project reports, grant proposals, and other documentation as required. 

Actively engage in personal career development, with support provided for pursuing independent research fellowships and funding opportunities.

 

Person Specification 

Qualifications 

A PhD in Immunology or a closely related biomedical discipline is required.
