Lecturer (Above the Bar) in Sports & Exercise Medicine

Permanent Part Time Post (0. 5 FTE) 

 

Applications are invited for a Lectureship (Above the Bar) post in the School of Medicine, specifically in the area of Sport and Exercise Medicine. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative lecturer in the area.  The successful candidate will play a key role in teaching and supporting the MMEdSc in Sports & Exercise Medicine programme and will be expected to assume the programme Director role.  The successful candidate will have a professional (clinical) qualification in Medicine and should be eligible to register with the Irish Medical Council, the statutory body that registers and regulates Medical Doctors in Ireland. Applicants must have a relevant post-graduate qualification and have experience in clinical student education and classroom teaching and learning. The appointee will be expected to be research active, supervise student research and participate in department and college committees.  Reporting to the Head of the Department of Medicine, and working closely with the School of Medicine, applicants will demonstrate evidence of a commitment to excellence in teaching, curriculum development and research in Sport and Exercise Medicine.

Appointment may be made on the Lecturer (Above the Bar) Salary Scale (pro rata): €79,185 - €102,549 (Scale B) / €75,338 - €97,420 (Scale A). 

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
