The Purpose of the Role
The EY Assistant Professor in Financial Services will advance research, teaching, and policy engagement in the field by catalysing the existing relationships between Trinity Business School and Trinity Law School. This role reflects the shared vision of both Schools and EY to strengthen Trinity’s global reputation in financial services education and research, while equipping students with the transversal skills required for careers in law, business, consultancy, and public policy.
Applications are welcome from legal scholars and business scholars with research excellence in financial services. They will have a compelling research agenda to build on their outputs to date. The postholder will contribute across both Schools, delivering undergraduate and postgraduate modules, supervising students at all levels, and playing a central role in the development of joint initiatives (e.g. MSc in Law & Finance; Joint honours degrees: Law and Business). They will also be expected to contribute to public and industry engagement, consistent with the interdisciplinary nature of the role.

Context
Leading Centre for Education and Research in Business and Law Trinity Law School is embarking on an ambitious development plan that will position itself as a world-leading centre for legal education and research. This development project complements the one implemented by Trinity Business School a decade ago. As well as enhancing their physical infrastructure, both Schools are investing in academic posts to recruit the thoughtleaders who will address contemporary challenges while educating the next generation of citizens to meet the challenges of the future. Both are also deeply committed to cuƫting-edge knowledge transfer between academia and the various dimensions of the professional worlds with which they interact – in the courts; in business; and in public policy. There is a long-standing tradition of educational collaboration between the Schools, the highly successful law and business undergraduate programme having been established in 2008 and the equally successful MSc in Law and Finance in 2019.
Qualifications
Excellent academic record and have completed or be very close to completion of a Ph.D. in either Law or Business (must be completed within 1 year of commencing in the role)
