University Tutor in Creative Writing, (Permanent, Part-Time 0.5 FTE), Department of English

Maynooth University is committed to a strategy in which the primary University goals of excellent research and scholarship and outstanding education are interlinked and equally valued.

We are seeking an outstanding writer to join our staff as a Tutor in Creative Writing (0.5 FTE). The person appointed will have a proven record of publication and teaching of creative writing, appropriate to career stage, and will demonstrate excellence in the field of creative writing. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the Department’s new BA in Creative Writing and English, undertaking teaching duties on the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as the supervision of final-year undergraduate and Masters’ Creative Writing projects.

The appointee will be expected to build a strong publication profile that supports the University’s research strategy, including affiliating to the Research Institutes and other Departments where appropriate. The appointee will be expected to generate creative   publications of national standard.

Salary:

University Tutor:      €45,551– €57,921 p.a. pro rata (7 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
