The Purpose of the Role
The Club Development Officer (GAA & Field Sports) will work with student sport clubs, students and a range of internal and external partners to develop the sports programme at Trinity College in line with the aims of the Trinity College Strategy for Sport & Physical Activity. The role will provide development support to the GAA club & Field Sports to support the growth and progression of the sports. The role will increase participation and opportunities for student development at all levels, enable students to fulfil their potential and to have an outstanding student experience.
Context
The role will work as part of the Sports Development Unit and will work with the wider team in working towards the objectives in the Strategy of Sport & Physical Activity. As part of the new Trinity College Strategy for Sport & Physical activity our overarching participation goal is that every student in the University engages in sport at whatever level and in whatever way that best enhances their student experience. The role holder will work to develop an appropriate pathway in each sport to ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate in the sport at their chosen level of the pathway. The role reports to the Club Operations & Development Manager.
The role holder will be the first point of contact for club committee members and students within the identified sports clubs and is responsible for the provision of an inclusive range of participation opportunities for students to be physically active.
Qualifications
• A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant area such as sports development (desirable)
