The UCC Sustainability Academy was established in 2024 to develop and deliver training programmes on sustainability to industry, local authorities, public bodies, and to the public. The Sustainability Academy is the first university sustainability training unit of its kind in Ireland responding to the market demand for short bespoke sustainability training offerings.
UCC is proudly recognised as a global leader in sustainability across practice, research and teaching. The University is consistently ranked top 10 in global university rankings for sustainability and in 2023 was awarded international Sustainability Institution of the Year. Established almost 25 years ago, the Environmental Research Institute brings together over 600 researchers to address the global sustainability challenges and hosts the national SFI MaREI Centre which aims to make Ireland a global leader in Energy, Climate, and Marine Research.
The establishment of the UCC Sustainability Academy builds on this leadership through the provision of high quality, practice focused sustainability training programmes drawing on the deep expertise of sustainability academics across UCC combined with a core team of sustainability trainers and industry practitioners.
The UCC Sustainability Academy is a unit within the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science working in partnership with the College of Business and Law, College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences, and College of Medicine and Health.

Appointment may be made on the Admin III (Grade 6) Salary Scale: €60,260 - €71,946 (Scale B) / €57,375 - €68,462 (Scale A).
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
