The Admissions and Student Recruitment Office plays a vital role in attracting, selecting, and admitting talented students to the University. Our work focuses on the recruitment of CAO undergraduate EU students, using targeted outreach, school liaison, and promotional activities to raise awareness of our programmes and guide prospective students towards making an application.

Alongside student recruitment, the office manages the full lifecycle of the undergraduate EU admissions process. This includes:

  • Application Management – receiving and verifying CAO applications, ensuring that all documentation is complete and meets entry requirements.
  • Assessment and Decision-Making – working in line with University policies and national regulations to assess eligibility, calculate points, and determine offers.
  • Offer Management – issuing offers promptly, managing deferrals, and processing acceptances through the CAO system.
  • Communication and Guidance – providing clear, timely updates to applicants, parents, and schools, and responding to queries to ensure a smooth applicant journey.
  • Collaboration and Compliance – working with academic departments, Registry, and external bodies to ensure the integrity, fairness, and efficiency of the admissions process.

Our goal is to deliver a seamless transition from application to offer stage, ensuring every applicant receives a professional, efficient, and supportive experience. By combining strong administrative processes with a student-focused approach, the Admissions and Student Recruitment Office helps maintain the University’s reputation for excellence and accessibility.

We are now seeking an Administrative Officer to play a key role in supporting the admissions function of this work. The postholder will provide high-level administrative and operational support across the undergraduate EU admissions process, ensuring that applications are processed accurately and efficiently from initial receipt through to offer stage. Working closely with colleagues across the Admissions and Student Recruitment Office, as well as academic departments, the Administrative Officer will help maintain smooth workflows during peak periods, uphold compliance with policies and regulations, and contribute to delivering an exceptional applicant experience

Salary Scale:

Administrative Officer II (2025):                                                          €46,418 – €65,806 p.a. (9 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.

The Purpose of the Role 

Trinity College Dublin is seeking an organised administrator to support the delivery of learning and organisational development activities within the HR team. 

As the main administrative support for the Learning & Organisation Design & Development (L&ODD) team, you will coordinate training events, maintain accurate records, manage bookings and payments, and liaise with stakeholders across the university. The role offers variety and autonomy in a busy but structured environment and is central to ensuring that L&D services run smoothly and professionally.

 

Context 

Reporting to the Learning & Development Operations Manager, this role will form part of the Organisation Development (L&ODD) team (6 staff) within the larger Human Resources Department at Trinity (approx. 60 staff). 

The L&ODD team plays a key role in delivering staff learning interventions aligned with Trinity’s strategic goals. This post supports the operational delivery of these programmes and ensures high standards of service to staff, vendors, and internal partners. You will work closely with colleagues across the university and take pride in providing responsive, detail-oriented administrative support that enables our staff to thrive.

 

Qualifications 

• Leaving Certificate and relevant further education or training (e.g., QQI/FETAC) (essential). 

• Administration, HR, or finance-related training or certification (desirable)

Experience 

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy office environment in an administrative role (essential). 

• Experience managing bookings, coordinating events, or processing payments (essential). 

• Experience using administrative databases, HR systems, finance systems, or learning systems (e.g. CORE HR, SAP, or similar) (desirable).

Position Summary

 

MOVE: “Mobilising Vectors for Engagement”: Supporting Our Students’ Access to International Mobility (PATH 4: Phase 1, Universal Design Fund and Inclusive Environments) is a HEA funded project. 

 

Its aim is to:

  1. Explore the linguistic, cultural and individual vectors factors which prove challenging to students pre and during international mobility experiences. 
  2. Design an educational programme which will help students overcome the barriers before they go and support them during their mobility experience. 

 

Experience of conducting ethnography influenced research with internationally mobile students from an Applied Linguistics perspective is highly preferred for this position. The post also includes teaching on Applied Linguistics based modules in the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures and the dissemination of findings at appropriate conferences.

 

 

 

Achievement of the expected progression within Post Doc and Senior Post Doc is transferable between the Irish HEI’s.  This can be reflected in the starting pay of a PD researcher.  Similarly, as the PD scheme is an intergenerational training scheme completion of PD1 or PD 2 levels in one HEI will normally render that researcher ineligible for appointment at a similar level in another Irish HEIResearcher Career Development Framework | Irish Universities Association

The SEAMPHONI project, funded by Horizon Europe, aims to deliver a novel, integrated, and innovative mapping, monitoring, modelling, and management system for offshore marine areas (OMAs). A key feature of SEAMPHONI is the active involvement of stakeholders and citizens to help achieve protection targets for European Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). The project will advance understanding of how climate change impacts vulnerable marine ecosystems within the OMAs. As part of SEAMPHONI, the successful candidate will conduct climate change scenario analyses to assess the impacts of extreme events on marine species and habitats within MPAs. Particular attention will be given to climate projections and their implications for sea-level rise and storm surges, focusing on two case study areas: the Wadden Sea and the North-Western Spanish Mediterranean Sea.
