The Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a committed and dedicated individual to join our team and contribute to the growth, delivery, and continuous improvement of the MSc. in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). The MSc in ABA is an intensive full-time postgraduate programme delivered over two years. The course aims to ensure that students become efficient in the practical application of the principles of applied behaviour analysis. The course provides theoretical, ethical, practical, and basic modules that involve face-to-face classes presented by qualified staff with expertise in Behaviour Analysis. Theory and practice are interwoven throughout the course. Class time includes lectures, interactive sessions, seminars, and group work. Students are required to actively engage in the content and process through discussion and demonstration, including reference to their own work experiences to integrate theory and practice. This course has been verified by ABAI as meeting the Fifth Edition (6th Ed Test Content Outline), 315-hour coursework requirement for those wishing to sit the Board Certified Behaviour Analyst® or Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst® examinations. The course is also accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) enabling eligible graduates to apply to become Chartered Behavioural Psychologists.
Context
The School of Psychology (www.psychology.tcd.ie) has a strong identity nationally and internationally for excellence in research and teaching. The postholder will join with us approximately 39 academic staff and 500 students. Staff are research leaders in research in a variety of fields including associated institutes and research centres in College including, the Trinity Centre for Global Health; the Centre for Innovative Humans Systems; the Centre for the Developing Person; Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience and the Trinity Research in Childhood Centre.
The specific purpose of this post is to support the School in managing and consolidating current student numbers on the MSc in Applied Behavioural Analysis programme and to assess the sustainability of this level of intake. Employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis as this post is established for the specific purpose of supporting programme delivery at the current level and enabling the School to assess the sustainability of student demand and associated resourcing requirements. Employment will terminate on completion of this specific purpose.
Qualifications
• A PhD in Psychology or a closely related field relevant to Applied Behaviour Analysis( viva passed before application)
• BCBA certification by the BACB and/or eligibility for chartered membership with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
