Post-doctoral Researcher

Post Status: Specific Purpose Contract (0.6 FTE) 

Research Group / Department / School: School of Nursing and Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin 

Location: School of Nursing and Midwifery, 24 D’Olier Street, Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin College Green, Dublin 2, Ireland and St James’s Hospital, James’s Street, Dublin 8 

Reports to: Professor Anne-Marie Brady 

Salary: Appointment will be made on the IUA Researcher Salary scales at postdoctoral scale (Level 1) 

Hours of Work: 3 days per week

 

Post Summary 

The Trinity Centre for Practice & Healthcare Innovation, School of Nursing and Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin is seeking to recruit a post-doctoral researcher to assist with nursing service improvement innovation initiatives at St James Hospital, Dublin. The role will involve liaising between the nursing service providers at St James Hospital and the research teams in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin. The collaboration with St James Hospital aims to support St James Hospital in retaining the Pathway to Excellence and progress to Magnet® designation by increasing capacity and support for nurses to lead and engage in research and evidence-based practice. 

This position will appeal to anyone who wishes to develop their research career and profile. The salary is commensurate with the IUA scale for a post-doctoral researcher. The post holder will be based between St James Hospital and the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin. The post holder will receive training, guidance and support, where relevant. This post is offered on a 0.6 FTE (3 days per week) and will start immediately.

Qualifications 

• A PhD is essential, ideally in one of the social sciences, midwifery, nursing or allied health professions
