The Purpose of the Role
Responsible for the day-to-day planning and implementation of an effective education programme for TCD radiation therapy students on clinical placement in external radiotherapy centres where tutors are not assigned. The post holder will be based in Trinity College Dublin but as part of this role, will routinely visit clinical departments around the country.
Contribute to the quality of undergraduate TCD Radiation Therapy clinical education programme and support both students and Radiation Therapists.
Context
The Discipline offers a B.Sc. (Hons) in Radiation Therapy, which has strong clinical and academic components as well as online postgraduate certificate, diploma, and MSc. in Advanced Radiotherapy. Candidates must hold a B.Sc in Radiation Therapy and will have a minimum of 6 years experience working in a radiation therapy department. The successful candidate, who will join the Discipline’s clinical education team will be expected to contribute to the current undergraduate programmes as appropriate, to be actively involved in clinical teaching and in our outreach and civic engagement programmes.
Qualifications
Essential
• Hold a B.Sc in Radiation Therapy.
Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Radiation Therapists Division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU. On appointment the practice tutor must maintain annual registration on the Radiation Therapists’ Division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU.
• Have not less than 6 years (or an aggregate of 6 years) full time post qualification clinical experience in the speciality of Radiation Therapy
