Accountant, College of Science, Engineering & Food Science

The College of Science, Engineering and Food Science (SEFS) is a thriving and diverse College, with approximately 5,800 staff and students. It is the second largest College in the University with over €110 million in operations and research grant activity per annum. SEFS comprises of nine academic Schools, seven STEM research centres and Institutes, and two training units.

 

The successful appointee to this post will provide financial and management accounting support to the College Finance Business Manager, Head of College and senior leadership of the College of Science Engineering and Food Science. The Accountant will work three days a week as dedicated support to the SEFS College Finance Manager and will work two days per week with the Food Industry Training Unit (FITU), an industry-facing unit located in the School of Food and Nutritional Sciences. 

 

The appointee will manage financial processes from proposal development through to project close-out, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, funding agency requirements and audit standards. The appointee will report directly to the College Finance Business Manager with a secondary reporting line to the Head of FITU and dotted reporting line to the Chief Financial Officer or nominee.

Appointment may be made on the Admin III (6) Salary Scale: €60,260 - €71,946 (Scale B) / €57,375 - €68,462 (Scale A). 

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
