The Medical Education Unit, School of Medicine UCC is recruiting a Post-Doctoral Researcher to work on a Health Research Board funded project. The project is an interdisciplinary collaboration with partners in the health and higher education sectors across Ireland. The research focuses on educating healthcare professionals to address the planetary crisis in their daily practice. Individual studies include literature reviews, large-scale surveys, interview/focus groups studies, co-design, consensus building, implementation and evaluation studies. These posts are suitable for newly qualified PhDs in areas such as health professions’ education, sustainability education, health services research, public health, psychology, sociology, etc. Training in specific methodologies will be provided as required. Further opportunities for professional development will be provided by the UCC Post-Doc Development Hub. The Post-Doctoral Researchers will be part of a team of six full-time research staff and a part-time Research Administrator under the supervision of Prof. Deirdre Bennett. Key duties and responsibilities are outlined in the candidate brief. This post requires on-site presence at UCC. UCC Remote Working Policy will apply.
Achievement of the expected progression within Post Doc and Senior Post Doc is transferable between the Irish HEI’s. This can be reflected in the starting pay of a PD researcher. Similarly, as the PD scheme is an intergenerational training scheme completion of PD1 or PD 2 levels in one HEI will normally render that researcher ineligible for appointment at a similar level in another Irish HEI Researcher Career Development Framework | Irish Universities Association
Please note that Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check may form part of the selection process.
