Post-Doctoral Researcher School of Food and Nutritional Sciences

Applications are invited for the role of Post-Doctoral Researcher within the School of Food and Nutritional Sciences.
The Sustainable Food System Research Group (SFSRG) led by Dr Aylin Sahin is a team of enthusiastic and ambitious researchers working on solutions to produce healthy food products without harming the environment. The successful candidate will work on an EU-funded project (Sustain-a-Bite) which investigates the potential of fermentation technology for upcycling fruit and vegetable side streams. The project focuses on minimal processing techniques to produce plant-based foods with improved physicochemical and nutritional properties which are highly consumer accepted.
Achievement of the expected progression within Post Doc and Senior Post Doc is transferable between the Irish HEI’s. This can be reflected in the starting pay of a PD researcher. Similarly, as the PD scheme is an intergenerational training scheme completion of PD1 or PD 2 levels in one HEI will normally render that researcher ineligible for appointment at a similar level in another Irish HEIResearcher Career Development Framework | Irish Universities Association
