POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER - SCHOOL OF LANGUAGES, LITERATURES AND CULTURES

12 Months, Fixed-Term, Whole-time Post
Position Summary
MOVE: “Mobilising Vectors for Engagement”: Supporting Our Students’ Access to International Mobility (PATH 4: Phase 1, Universal Design Fund and Inclusive Environments) is a HEA funded project.
Its aim is to:
- Explore the linguistic, cultural and individual vectors factors which prove challenging to students pre and during international mobility experiences.
- Design an educational programme which will help students overcome the barriers before they go and support them during their mobility experience.
Experience of conducting ethnography influenced research with internationally mobile students from an Applied Linguistics perspective is highly preferred for this position. The post also includes teaching on Applied Linguistics based modules in the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures and the dissemination of findings at appropriate conferences.
Achievement of the expected progression within Post Doc and Senior Post Doc is transferable between the Irish HEI’s. This can be reflected in the starting pay of a PD researcher. Similarly, as the PD scheme is an intergenerational training scheme completion of PD1 or PD 2 levels in one HEI will normally render that researcher ineligible for appointment at a similar level in another Irish HEIResearcher Career Development Framework | Irish Universities Association
