Practice Tutor (MSc in Physiotherapy), School of Clinical Therapies

The School of Clinical Therapies offers professional programmes at BSc, MSc and Doctoral level education. The MSc Physiotherapy degree is a two-year programme and includes a minimum of 1000 hours of practice education in collaboration with Health Service Providers. Applications are invited for the post of Practice Tutor. The Practice Tutor role (HSE Grade Senior Physiotherapist) is to support, develop, co-ordinate and improve the quality of practice education for students and Practice Educators. The location of the post is UCC-based, with a remit to cover placement areas. The staff member shall teach and examine, undertake administrative duties, and carry out other duties appropriate to the post under the general direction of the Head of Discipline of Physiotherapy. The person appointed will work closely with the Practice Education Coordinator.

 

The post-holder will be flexible, work on their own initiative and tutor when students are on placement. The post is based in UCC; however, some travel to placement sites will be necessary.   

 

Applicants should be CORU-registered Physiotherapists, have at least 3 years’ clinical experience and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They should also have experience in teaching/tutoring or clinical supervision of Physiotherapy students. 

 

Please note that Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check may form part of the selection process.

Appointment may be made on the HSE Senior Physiotherapist Salary Scale: €63,279 - €74,509.

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
