Research Assistant Admin. School of English and Digital Humanities

Applications are invited for the position of part-time Research Assistant on the NorseMap project, hosted in the School of English and Digital Humanities. NorseMap is major new project investigating the legacy of the Vikings in Europe, and seeking to map the different ways the Viking past is used in tourism, branding, politics and the cultural economy. It is funded by a 5-year European Research Council Consolidator Grant.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and digitally literate Research Assistant to assist with the administration of this innovative project. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, experience with data collection and database management, and experience in or enthusiasm for public history and/or the Viking past. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to provide general administrative support, moderate and upload data to the online collection, and help disseminate research findings. This is an opportunity to join an exciting project, and to contribute to our understanding of how a fundamental period of European history has been received over time.
