The Kittel-Schneider Lab at APC Microbiome Ireland, University College Cork, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant for a 3-year, full-time contract. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a world-leading research centre at the forefront of microbiome science, working under the direction of Professor Sarah Kittel-Schneider, Chair of Psychiatry at UCC and a leading expert in neurodevelopmental and affective disorders.

APC Microbiome Ireland is a global leader in gut microbiome research, with over 300 researchers and a vibrant, interdisciplinary environment. The Kittel-Schneider Lab focuses on the biological mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental and mood disorders, with a particular emphasis on the gut-brain axis, dietary interventions, and the cellular effects of the microbiome. Our research integrates clinical studies, advanced microbiology, and cellular models to uncover new insights into mental health and disease.
UCC is an accredited research organisation and as such can form hosting agreements with third country nationals (and non-EEA nationals) for the purpose of conducting research in the University.
