Senior Procurement Specialist (Governance & Systems), Procurement & Contracts Office

UCC wishes to appoint an administrator to the role of Senior Procurement Specialist (Governance and Systems). Reporting to the Procurement Officer, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with the wider Procurement team including the Deputy Procurement Officer (Operations) to collectively deliver the goals and objectives of the office. This includes maintaining ISO 9001:2015 certification. The successful candidate will also be assigned some areas of spend and will be responsible for the tenders associated with those categories. This may include areas such as Travel, People & Culture and large IT projects. At times, this will require working closely with the government central purchasing body - the Office of Government Procurement (OGP) and its shared service partners including the Education Procurement Services (EPS), HSE, and HEAnet.

UCC is currently place fourth as one of most impactful universities in the world according to the UI GreenMetric Word University Rankings. This means UCC must play its part with implementing green procurement practices which will support achieving its 51% emissions reductions target by 2030. The Senior Procurement Specialist (Governance and Systems) must be committed to the principles of green procurement and will be expected to continue to embed sustainable ambitions and report on targets within all procurement practices to ensure UCC continues to play a leadership role in the area of sustainability.

Appointment may be made on the Admin II (Grade 6a) Salary Scale: €72,044 - €91,259 (Scale B) / €68,551 - €86,698 (Scale A).
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
