Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2 in Microbiology Imaging within UCD School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering. This postdoctoral position will play an important role in a European Research Council (ERC) funded project. A key aim of this project is to develop new mechanistic insight in the interaction between biofilms and aggregates/particulates. The project relies heavily on advanced microscopy, particularly confocal scanning laser microscopy (CSLM). This is a five year research programme and is based in the UCD School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering. The appointed post-doc will join a dynamic multi-disciplinary research team located in modern facilities with access to state-of-the art technologies including dedicated CSLM. This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervisionand direction of a Principal Investigator. The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.
