PostdocResearch FellowLvl1or2inAgroecology&Biodiv,29months

Applications are invited for a 29 months post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or Level 2 within UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science. Redesigning agri-food systems in Europe is a key challenge, and agroecology presents a promising solution by aligning agricultural practices with ecological and societal needs. Despite its environmental benefits, agroecology faces limited adoption due to a lack of cross-disciplinary understanding and the need for context-specific practices. The SAFER project (Strengthening Agricultural landscape multifunctionality through expansion of agroecological farming in EuRope) aims to address these issues through a network of six Living Labs across diverse European regions, using a participatory and multidisciplinary approach. It will co-design locally adapted practices, assess their impacts, forecast outcomes at the landscape level, and examine how policies and stakeholder engagement influence the scaling of agroecological practices. POST DOC LEVEL 1 Salary: €45,847 - €52,339Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience. POST DOC LEVEL 2 Salary: €53,770 Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on 25th June 2025 Applications must be submitted by the closing date and time specified.
