Research Associate - ERC Project, UCD Law, Temp 18 months

Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Associate - ERC Project within UCD Sutherland School of Law. 

We are looking for a highly motivated and qualified researcher with an emerging profile in socio-legal studies of the European Union, with an understanding of the Swedish experience of European integration and of legal comparison. This post requires the ability to work at academic levels in Swedish and English. Career development opportunities specific to this project comprise presenting work at international conferences, contributing to project academic seminars and co-authoring peer reviewed publications. 

You will provide analytical reviews of academic literature, legislation and case law in Swedish, as well as media analysis, with the aim of identifying relevant economic, social and digital EU-derived rights over a range of modes of governance. You will also contribute to qualitative comparative research with a focus on Sweden, including by conducting expert interviews (to identify barriers and enablers for the implementation of EU instruments as well as assessment of how practical the intended effects may be), and conducting citizens' meeting (mimicking citizens' assemblies) with lay people. Those meetings aim at evaluating lay-persons perception of experience with EU derived rights by using visualised scenarios (vignettes) potentially relevant for the usage of economic/liberal, social and/or digital rights derived from EU Treaties or Association Agreements.

Fixed Salary: €50,200 Per Annum
