Senior Power Systems Researcher, Until 31/12/26

Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Senior Power Systems Researcher within College of Engineering and Architecture. We are seeking to hire a Senior Power Systems Researcher to join as a member of the research team to focus on how the generation and storage portfolio for a power system should evolve as part of decarbonisation efforts, focussing, in particular, on the nature of the system services required for secure operation, as well as the likely technologies providing those services. The economic viability of individual technologies will be assessed by examining operational schedules for different technologies, and considering the potential revenue streams for different future scenarios on different timescales, using a sequential (least regrets) investment approach aimed at minimising the combined investment and operational cost. Salary: €47,000 - €52,500 per annum Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
