Technical Officer, UCD NVRL 12 months with 12 months panel

Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Technical Officer (Quality Assurance Assistant) within UCD National Virus Reference Laboratory. The National Virus Reference Laboratory (NVRL) plays an important role in the Irish Health Services as the principal diagnostic and reference service for clinicians investigating virus infections. The laboratory offers approximately 170 tests for the diagnosis of at least 45 different pathogens and the current workload involves performing in excess of 1 million tests per annum. The NVRL is accredited by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a National Laboratory for Poliovirus, Influenza, Measles and Rubella. The NVRL is also accredited by the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB) to undertake testing as detailed in the Schedule bearing the Registration Number 326MT, in compliance with the International Standard ISO/IEC 15189. The main purpose of the post is to assist with the development and implementation of a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) that fulfils the requirements ISO 15189, National and EU legislative requirements **95 Technical Officer\2013 (7915) **€47,761 - €62,551 Per annum.Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on 08/04/2026.
