Translational Research Unit Mngr, UCD Vet Med, 48 months, 0.4FTE

Applications are invited for a temporary part-time (0.4FTE) post of a Translational Research Unit Manager within UCD School Veterinary Medicine. 

To support the Team of the currently expanding large animal Translational Research Unit at Lyons Research Farm in advancing its translational research towards impact such as the adoption of new clinical techniques, new medical devices, and new therapeutics. 

This post requires an experienced and licenced veterinary surgeon with experience in surgical translational large animal models and research project management. You will be working part-time (0.4 FTE) with some requirement for out of hours work depending on the animal care required. Although your working base will be at UCD Belfield your role will involve working at the Translational Research Unit at UCD Lyons Research Farm in Celbridge. The post requires a candidate who is comfortable with supporting surgical procedures in large animals to the highest possible standards and the pre- and post-operative care to the highest possible clinical and welfare standards. The candidate should also be experienced in the management and health control of large animal experimental herds including breeding. In addition, the candidate will be required to take responsibility for the efficient running of the Translational Research Unit. The candidate will also take legal responsibility for the management of controlled drugs. 

Salary Range: €45,000 - €85,000 Per Annum Pro Rata at 0.4FTE

Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
