Lecturer in Bioinformatics, Specific Purpose Contract, 1FTE, Contract Type B, 010999

Applications are invited for appointment as a Lecturer (Type B) in Bioinformatics within the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Galway.

The Discipline of Bioinformatics has particular research strengths in the development and application of novel statistical and computational methods to analyse high throughput biological data generated using a wide range of technologies, as well as in the specific areas of cancer multi-omics, complex disease genomics, pathogen genomics, and molecular evolution.
We are seeking to recruit a talented Lecturer in Bioinformatics for a Specific Purpose Contract, comprising teaching, research, and service. Applicants with research interests in any area of Bioinformatics or Computational Biology are invited to apply.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and supervision at all levels, and should have an excellent track record in research and scholarship in Bioinformatics. They will demonstrate an interest in participating in academic administration, and engagement with industry and wider society regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Salary: €63,624 to €101,498 p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)
