Postdoctoral Researcher – 0.4 FTE Health Promotion-Health Promotion Research Centre 011419
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a part-time (40%), fixed term position as a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Health Promotion Research Centre at the University of Galway.
This position is funded by the Health Promotion Research Centre (HPRC). The position is available immediately and is for 24 months.
Information on projects
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to join the HPRC, which comprises of multidisciplinary team members working in Health Promotion. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant research centre working across several research projects spanning different life stages and topics such as sexual health, mental health and well-being, child and adolescent health, health literacy, nutrition and more. The post-holder will be responsible for embedding and expanding knowledge translation, dissemination and impact activities for research projects in the centre. The post would suit researchers with an interest in knowledge translation and the application of knowledge to practice and policy.

The Health Promotion Research Centre was established in 1990 with support from the Department of Health. The Centre produces high quality research, of national and international significance, that supports the development of best practice and policy in the promotion of health. As the only designated research centre in Ireland dedicated to Health Promotion, the Centre collaborates with regional, national and international agencies, including the EU and WHO, on the development and evaluation of health promotion initiatives. The Centre has an active multidisciplinary research programme and has been designated as a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre since 2009. **Salary: **Postdoctoral Researcher salary scale €46,305 - €59,063 per annum (subject to the project’s funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.
The default position for all new public sector appointments is the 1st point of the salary scale. This may be reviewed, and consideration afforded to appointment at a higher point on the payscale (subject to the project’s funding limitations), where evidence of prior years’ equivalent experience is accepted in determining placement on the scale above point 1, subject to the maximum of the scale.
