Postdoctoral Researcher/Research Associate - Topographic surveys C-MAP, 0.77 FTE, School of Geography, Archaeology and Irish Studies, 011781
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a part-time (0.77 FTE) fixed term position as a Postdoctoral Researcher/Research Associate. The researcher will design and undertake topographic surveys of coastal sites in the Republic of Ireland. They will develop and run a climate adaptation engagement hub. The position, through the Geography Department at the University of Galway, will run for 2 years.
This position is funded by SEUPB and is available from 01 July 2026 to 30 June 2028.
The recently awarded €9 million C-MAP project (Coastal Monitoring and Adaptation Planning) has an ambitious programme of work which aims to develop new and sustainable approaches to managing coastal and marine environments in the border counties of Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The work at University of Galway has two distinct components: the monitoring of coastal change on sandy coasts; the development and running of a Nature-based Solution Hub.
Salary: Postdoctoral Researcher/Research Associate salary scale €46,805 - €59,654 per annum, (subject to the project’s funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.
