Research Assistant- FlexCell, School of Chemical and Biological Sciences (011254)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, fixed term position as a research assistant with School of Chemical and Biological Sciences, College of Science and Engineering at the University of Galway, Ireland.

This position is funded by Enterprise Ireland and is available immediately to contract end date of 22nd January 2026.

FlexCell project will develop advanced small caliber prostheses based on 3D hydrogel made of nanocellulose fibrils and crosslinked flexible synthetic polyacrylates to create cell-free implants for vascular trauma surgery. The successful candidate will work in the chemistry laboratory at School of Chemical and Biological Sciences and tissue culture laboratory at CÚRAM Research Ireland Centre for Medical Devices, University of Galway.

Salary: Research Assistant  salary scale €32,962 to €42,943 per annum, (subject to the project’s funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.
