Research Associate - Clinical Trials Co-ordinator , 1 FTE, School of Medicine, 011754

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a fulltime, 2-year fixed-term position as a Research Associate - Clinical Trial Co-ordinator with the Discipline of Surgery at the University of Galway, Ireland.  

This position is funded by the University and is available from 3 August 2026 to contract end date of 31 July 2028. 

The Discipline of Surgery at the University of Galway has an active and expanding programme of investigator‑initiated and multicentre surgical trials across breast cancer, vascular and other surgical specialties, supported by close collaboration with the University’s Institute for Clinical Trials and the National Surgical Research Support Centre at RCSI. Current activity includes participation in international landmark studies in abdominal aortic aneurysm management, surgical management of breast cancer alongside device‑ and technology‑focused studies within the wider cardiovascular and MedTech trials ecosystem in Galway, providing a strong platform for high‑quality patient recruitment, trial delivery and translational impact. 

Salary: Research Associate/Postdoctoral Researcher salary scale €46,805 - €59,654 per annum, (subject to the project’s funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.  

NB: Gárda vetting is a requirement for this post
