Senior ICT Transformation Manager, AO, 1 FTE, Specific Purpose Contract
Information Solutions and Services (ISS) is the central IT organisation of the University of Galway, responsible for delivering digital capabilities, technology services, and information systems that enable the University’s teaching, research, and administrative missions. ISS provides a comprehensive portfolio of services including enterprise applications, digital transformation, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data services, and customer support to students, researchers, and staff across the University.
Operating within a complex and dynamic higher education environment, ISS plays a critical role in supporting the University’s strategy by:
- Enabling innovation in learning, teaching, and research through modern digital platforms.
- Maintaining secure, resilient and high-performing IT operations.
- Delivering strategic technology projects that enhance the University’s digital maturity.
- Ensuring governance, compliance, and alignment of IT services with institutional priorities.
- Supporting staff and students through high-quality, user-centred service delivery.
The department is currently advancing a significant multi-year transformation aligned with the ISS Operating Model, focused on strengthening governance, maturing IT processes, and enhancing operational excellence. This transformation is a core enabler of the University of Galway’s Digital Strategy, ensuring ISS capabilities evolve to support the institution’s long-term digital ambitions and strategic objectives. The Senior ICT Transformation Manager will play a key role in supporting this evolution, with an initial emphasis on ensuring the successful rollout of Year 1 implementation activities for the ISS Operating Model.
Applications are invited for an appointment as Senior ICT Transformation Manager, Grade AO, 1 FTE, in Information Solutions and Services at University of Galway.
This post is being offered as a specific purpose contract and will terminate by reason of the expiry of its specific purpose. It is anticipated that the duration of this assignment will be circa 7 years.

Salary: €85,235 - €108,728 per annum pro rata for part time/short term roles (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011) and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the QA321 University’s Remuneration & Payroll Policy.
This appointment will be made on the Grade AO payscale in line with current Government pay policy.
