JOB SYNOPSIS
Buildings and Estates (B&E) is a customer-driven department that aspires to provide excellent service to the UL campus and wider community. The B&E mission is to support the University in achieving its goals; its vision is to provide outstanding physical facilities for the pursuit of academic, cultural and recreational activities; its ethos is to sustain and seek to continually improve the quality of all services that it provides to the campus community. The University of Limerick is working to demonstrate leadership in tackling the climate change by establishing and delivering on pathways for the UL as a public body to meet, amongst other requirements, mandated targets for Greenhouse Gas emission reductions as set out in the Climate Action and Low Carbon Development (Amendment) Bill 2021 and the broader commitments set out in the National Policy aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).The post of Decarbonisation and Energy Engineer is a new role to support the University of Limerick to achieve ever more stringent government-mandated decarbonisation and energy efficiency targets.
