Research Assistant in Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties-Developing a Core Outcome Set for Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)

Applications are invited for the following position:

Title of Post: Research Assistant in Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties-Developing a Core Outcome Set for Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)

 

JOB SYNOPSIS:

The aim of the overall programme of research, to which this work package belongs, is to ensure that interventions to support language and communication deliver maximum benefit for children with or at risk for developmental language disorder (DLD) by developing a set of internationally accepted reporting guidelines as proposed by Frizelle, McKean, Eadie et al (2023). The research assistant will contribute to research activities, in work package four of this project, designed to identify essential treatment outcomes from the perspective of key stakeholder groups; leading to the development of a Core outcome set for interventions with children with or at risk of DLD. They will work with the work package lead at UL, other members of the research team at UL and project teams in UCC and internationally, to identify essential and desirable DLD oral language treatment outcomes from the perspective of an international sample of people with DLD and their families; clinicians, educators; and researchers in the area of DLD. The research assistant will support participant recruitment, data-gathering, data-analysis and write up. The research assistant will also support completion of the systematic reviews of literature regarding outcomes and outcome measurement tools.

Salary Scale: €32,962 - €42,943 p.a. pro rata (maximum starting salary €32,962 p.a. pro rata)
