JOB SYNOPSIS
Buildings and Estates is a multi-disciplinary department responsible for, amongst other things, new buildings and works projects, maintaining the campus buildings fabric and associated building plant, maintaining all campus grounds, cleaning, waste management, portering, traffic and parking management, space planning and management, the safety of the built environment, security and energy management. The Buildings and Estates Department supports the University Senior Management team in all aspects of estate planning and management. In particular, the Department is required to contribute to the University’s strategic and corporate planning, with special focus on the physical environment and the physical resources strategy. This contribution is essential in the context of supporting the University’s teaching, research, campus life services, sports facilities and other business activities. UL Procurement delegates the procurement of Works and Works Related Services to the Buildings and Estates Department. This includes all professional services associated with Works, i.e. design teams, design specialists for bespoke services e.g. Consultancy Services in respect of Decarbonisation of heating feasibility study. The Tendering & Procurement Co-Ordinator will be a key member of the Administrative Team to assist in the successful delivery of our procurement activities within the Projects Team, Technical Services Team and Operations Team to deliver our strategic objectives and business continuity of the University.
