Lecturer in Pharmacology and Therapeutics 1 FTE, Fixed Term - 1 year contract Contract Type A
Applications are invited for an appointment as Lecturer in Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1FTE, 1 Year - Fixed Term Contract type A at University of Galway.
The discipline of Pharmacology and Therapeutics has developed a range of educational programmes at undergraduate level for Science, Medicine and other health-related areas, as well as delivering taught M.Sc. programmes in Neuropharmacology and Toxicology and providing postgraduate research training at M.Sc. and PhD levels. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to these educational programmes, whilst also conducting research that is complementary to that of the existing academic staff within the discipline of Pharmacology and Therapeutics and the School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences.
The successful candidate will be located in the Human Biology Building which provides excellent research and teaching facilities in a dynamic, collaborative environment. The successful candidate will have a PhD and undergraduate or taught postgraduate degree(s) in Pharmacology or a closely related Biomedical Science discipline, experience of teaching Pharmacology to diverse student cohorts at third level, and evidence of an ongoing interest in, and commitment to, teaching. The appointment will be made at Lecturer level, commensurate with experience.
Salary: €64,903 to €103,538 pro rata p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)
