JOB SYNOPSIS

Join the TANGO project, an Enterprise Ireland–funded initiative developing a next-generation automated droplet-based microfluidic platform for functional T-cell analysis. We’re seeking a talented researcher or engineer to design, fabricate, and test microfluidic devices that integrate precision fluidics, optical detection, and novel luminescence-based assays. You’ll work at the interface of engineering, biology, and commercial innovation, helping translate cutting-edge research into a deployable instrument. Applicants should hold a PhD in microfluidics or biomedical engineering (or related field) and have hands-on experience in microfabrication and fluidic testing. This is a full-time position within the Enterprise Ireland COM Fund programme, offering a unique opportunity to help shape a transformative diagnostic technology.

Post Summary 

A 4 years Postgraduate Research Studentship is available to new entrants on the full-time PhD register for entry in September each year. Applicants must have received a minimum of 2.1 Honours degree to be eligible for the award. The postgraduate studentship aims to support and develop gifted research students and is awarded competitively on academic merit. It fully covers EU or non-EU fees and provides an annual maintenance of €25,000. 

Applications investigating topics within national strategies and/or the School research agenda are particularly welcome. You may select your own topic but you can also choose from the following school expertise:

Objective of this Post 

The principal objective of the post is to contribute to the development, organisation, and delivery of curriculum, teaching, and assessment in Surgery and Emergency Medicine across all our postgraduate training and academic programs. The successful candidate will play a key role in both the technical and non-technical skills training offered at RCSI, with a focus on the development and use of simulation technology to support learning. 

RCSI is seeking an individual with experience in the development and delivery of skills-based education in healthcare. Vacancy Description

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on a chemical education project on modernising laboratory education. The position is associated with a HEA funded (Irish Government’s Human Capital Initiative, HCI, supported by the National Training Fund) initiative. This large-scale inter-institutional educational initiative (involving MU, DkIT, TUS, UCC and DCU) explores the use of virtual laboratories as a teaching tool for the experimental sciences. The initiative will also involve working with both education technology providers, industry stakeholders and student partners. The project entails developing a new curriculum aimed at providing learners with enhanced technical and work readiness skills of relevance to the modern chemical sciences sector. The project involves using in-house and commercial virtual laboratory teaching resources and has developed a science lab recording studio at UCC.
