Document Controller, UCD National Virus Reference Lab, 5 years

Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Document Controller within UCD National Virus Reference Laboratory. 

The National Virus Reference Laboratory (NVRL) plays an important role in the Irish Health Services as the principal diagnostic and reference service for clinicians investigating virus infections. The laboratory offers approximately 120 tests for the diagnosis of at least 45 different pathogens and the current workload involves performing in excess of 800,000 tests per annum. The laboratory provides a 24/7 clinical and technical on call service to deal with urgent testing requirements and to support the National Transplant Programme. 

The Document Controller will have responsibility for controlling and managing all quality documents of the NVRL through the use of the Quality Management software package Q-Pulse. Additional functions include assisting with the preparation and revision of quality documentation to ensure compliance with the QMS and the aforementioned regulatory organisations. Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills are required in addition to good secretarial skills and computer literacy.

The successful applicant will play a key role in a multinational blood cancer research project funded by the Fight Kids Cancer charity. This project will generate multiomics data from pre-clinical models of high-risk acute leukaemias (specifically T-ALL) treated as part of the ALLTogether clinical trial involving 16 countries from across Europe. The post-doctoral researcher will integrate genomic, proteomic, drug screening and clinical data to develop Digital Twin models that predict novel treatment strategies for this disease. Audio Visual Designer / Consultant Project Manager

The Purpose of the Role 

Audio Visual equipment plays a key part in the Learning Spaces where our teaching takes place. It facilitates learning and enhances the student's experience. Well-designed systems are easy to use and provide a positive experience for all participants. High quality AV systems are also essential to support revenue generation for the university through room hire for Conferences and Events. The university requires an AV Designer and Project lead to design, plan and specify the AV equipment required for the university’s Learning and Meeting Spaces. The post holder will be responsible for leading the provision of the university’s AV systems, from design through implementation phase and handover to operational support. This will include evaluation of requirements, estimating costs, and producing final design within budget. It also includes a quality control role; ensuring that AV solutions are installed by third parties in accordance with agreed designs. The post holder will work across areas including existing centrally managed teaching spaces and spaces in new buildings and refurbishment projects working with the Estates and Facilities team. In addition, the post holder will provide a consultancy service to users throughout the university who are planning to procure Audio Visual systems in their own locally managed spaces. The post holder will maintain the university’s reputation for having well-designed and high-quality AV installations.

 

Context 

This role will be part of IT Services and will report initially to the Teaching & Learning Manager; it is expected that the role will transition to a new manager in 2026. The Post Holder will provide services for IT Services in designing solutions for centrally managed teaching and meeting spaces and AV consultancy services as part of the IT Services teams working on Estates and Facilities projects. They will provide AV consultancy services for university schools and departments. They will work with the ICT team on solution design for technical issues in the Senior Lecturer Pool Rooms.

 

Person Requirements 

• The role-holder will require the following knowledge, skills, and attributes for successful performance in the role 

Qualifications 

• An MSc. in a discipline relevant to the role or equivalent experience 

• A project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or PMI would be an advantage

The Purpose of the Role 

Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin, is seeking to appoint a Director of the Capital Programme Office. This is a senior leadership role, responsible for overseeing a high-performing, multi-functional team engaged in the delivery and governance of large-scale construction and transformation projects. The role blends expertise in construction and programme management with strategic planning, portfolio oversight, and strong stakeholder engagement. 

Reporting to the Bursar & Chief Strategic Developments Officer (Bursar), the Director will work closely with the Capital Review Group (CRG) comprising the Bursar, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Chief Operating Officer (COO). The post holder will ensure robust governance through Trinity’s stage gate process and compliance with national public sector frameworks. Context 

The Capital Programme Office is a newly established unit that consolidates key enabling functions including the Programme Management Office (PMO), capital procurement, and portfolio governance into a single integrated structure. The Director will lead the Capital Programme Office in conducting portfolio planning and prioritisation to optimise Trinity’s capital programme capacity in support of institutional strategic goals. They will play a key advisory role in capital programme decision-making, proactively interrogating and challenging plans, assumptions, and progress updates to make well-informed recommendations aligned with Trinity’s mission.
