JOB SYNOPSIS

The Department of Biological Sciences are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support its BSc and MSc programmes. The successful candidates will assist in the delivery of computer-based and laboratory-based practical’s and coordinate tutorial supports and contribute to the overall educational experience for our students. The appointees will also participate in Departmental outreach activities in support of its academic programmes. They will conduct high quality research and teaching in Human Resource Management (HRM)/Organisational Behaviour (OB) and will also participate in the School’s external engagement activities. Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • A PhD (or near completion of a PhD) in Human Resource Management (HRM)/Organisational Behaviour (OB) and a strong academic record. 
  • A track record of appropriate teaching experience, with a commitment to the highest quality of teaching and learning in the area of Human Resource Management (HRM)/Organisational Behaviour (OB) or a closely related field.
  • A well-defined research plan with evidence of published work and/or strong potential for publishing in high-impact international journals.
  • Ability to develop and maintain international networks and collaborations within the academic and professional communities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

The Sustainability Institute/School of BEES are now recruiting for a Post-Doctoral Researcher to work on the project ‘The spatial and population ecology of white-tailed eagles since their reintroduction to Ireland’. A total of 245 white-tailed eagle chicks have been reintroduced to Ireland since 2007 and there is now an established breeding population of about 15 pairs. All reintroduced birds have been satellite or wing tagged to follow their movement and survival. The aim of this project is to investigate these extensive, unique datasets to help understand the population dynamics, population viability, and the movement ecology of this reintroduced population. The focus is to analyze existing data, though there could be an opportunity to drive further fieldwork if a clear need is identified.

The International Research on Energy Systems Intergration, Education & Environment for Sustainability and Innovation Centre (IRESI), is a research centre housed in the School of Business.  IRESI's research focuses on propelling sustainable energy systems into the future by helping individuals, organisations, and institutions in the pursuit of a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable energy landscape. 

We are seeking a technically strong and research-driven Research Assistant to join our team and contribute to the NEXSYS project, funded by Research Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of energy systems innovation, with a particular focus on energy flexibility modelling, urban energy systems, and energy communities. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of quantitative models and analytical frameworks to assess demand-side flexibility, distributed energy resources, and smart grid integration at building, district, and city scales. The role will involve advanced data analysis, simulation, and optimisation to support the development of scalable and policy-relevant energy solutions.

Working within an interdisciplinary research environment, the appointee will collaborate closely with academic researchers, technical partners, policymakers, and community stakeholders. The position requires strong technical expertise in programming and energy systems modelling, alongside the ability to translate complex analytical outputs into high-quality research deliverables, technical reports, and publications.

In addition to contributing to core modelling and analysis activities, the successful candidate will support the delivery of project milestones and technical work packages, ensuring that outputs meet required quality standards and timelines. The Purpose of the Role 

Trinity College Dublin, located in the heart of Dublin, is Ireland’s number 1 university and ranked 75th internationally (QS Rankings 2026). The School of Computer Science and Statistics is a collegiate, friendly, and research-intensive centre for academic study and research excellence. The School has been ranked 1st in Ireland, top 25 in Europe, and top 100 Worldwide in recent years (QS Subject Rankings). The School is embedded in Trinity College Dublin’s E3 programme (www.tcd.ie/e3/), which is a collaboration across information technology, engineering and the natural sciences to address major challenges of our time and create a more sustainable future, through both teaching and research. 

The School of Computer Science and Statistics is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Statistics, who will join the Discipline of Statistics and Information Systems. The Assistant Professor will be a full faculty member, and as such will be expected to innovate in both research and teaching, to assist in the administration and mission of the School, and to contribute to the wider research community. The appointee should have the potential to develop into a leader in their particular field of research with a world-class research programme. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching in the School, particularly in areas of Statistics and Information Systems, including contributions to a number of online programmes.

The successful candidate will be an excellent researcher and lecturer with a strong international research track record and clear potential for research leadership. They should have a strong commitment to research-led undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a demonstrated capacity/potential to attract research funding and develop a world-class research programme. 

Applications are encouraged from candidates in the field of Statistics, who have a genuine commitment to the role of teaching Statistics at undergraduate and postgraduate level across many disciplines in Mathematics, Science, Engineering and the Humanities. The successful applicant will have a primary degree and a Ph.D. in Statistics or another subject with a strong statistical component. The group particularly welcomes applicants who have experience and interest in working in an interdisciplinary setting, and most notably individuals who can exploit the Discipline's position within a School of Computer Science and Statistics.

The Purpose of the Role 

The School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies (SLLCS) is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Russian Studies. This appointment is vital to the effective continuation of the teaching and research activity of the Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies and therefore of the School. 

The successful candidate will contribute to, and coordinate at an administrative level existing modules offered by the Department, as well as designing and delivering modules related to that person’s areas of particular specialisation. 

The new appointee will be expected to teach existing and/or new modules in areas such as Russian literature, cinema, visual culture, area studies, new media, popular culture and literary translation.

 

Context 

Trinity College is the only third-level institution on the island where Russian is taught to undergraduate degree level. The Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies, therefore, is of strategic interest not just to the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies (SLLCS) at Trinity, but to Ireland as a whole. It is vital that we maintain a viable department. 

The position is expected to boost the reputation of the Department (and the School) in the longer term and will help to ensure the continuation of our programmes in Russian and Central and East European languages, cultures and societies. 

Over the last thirty years, our core staff devoted to Russian and Polish studies have contributed to a comprehensive range of degree programmes offered to a wide range of both undergraduate and post-graduate students.

 

Qualifications 

  • Excellent academic record., including a PhD (complete or near to completion). 
  • At least some academic publications in peer reviewed international journals and/or publications of equal standing of recognized originality and value.

The VPRI and Director of Research Development are seeking to appoint a Manager to lead the development and delivery of a pilot ‘Maynooth University Futures Hub’. The hub will be a university-wide structure designed to connect across traditional boundaries; drive and amplify research across the University, enable research impact for civil society, policy and support achievement of the UN sustainable development goals. The role report to the Director of Research Development.

Salary:

Senior Administrative Officer IV):   €70,734 – €91,738 p.a. (1 – 4 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
